Privacy
Keyring privacy policy.
This covers the Optanik Keyring vault and the Optanik Keyring browser extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox. Effective October 14, 2026.
What the extension handles
- Your Optanik sign-in. Your email address and the session token you receive after signing in are kept in the extension's own browser storage so you stay signed in.
- Logins you save or fill. When you choose to save or update a login, its title, website address, user name and password are sent to your Keyring vault. When you fill or look up an entry, it is read from your vault. Two-factor codes are generated from the secret stored in your vault.
- The address of the page with a login form. To find matching logins, the extension sends the address of the page you are signing in to to your vault. It does not record or send your browsing history.
- Pending saves and "Not now" sites. A login waiting for you to confirm a save is kept in the browser for up to 15 minutes. Sites you dismiss are remembered in the browser so the extension stops asking.
Where it goes
Everything the extension sends goes over HTTPS to Optanik's own servers (app.optanik.com and the Keyring service at optanikkeyring.com), into the vault of the workspace you signed in to. Vault secrets are encrypted at rest. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties. The extension contains no analytics or tracking code and does not load code from the internet.
Who can see it
You, and the people your workspace shares entries with. Workspace owners and Keymasters manage sharing and access in Keyring.
Keeping and deleting it
- Signing out removes your sign-in from the extension. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored in the browser.
- Entries stay in your vault until you or your workspace delete them. Deleting your account or workspace deletes its vault.
- Device-managed installs are controlled by your organization's IT administrator.
